THE 12 PRINCIPLES OF GOOD GOVERNANCE
D4A 2021 will be based on the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance set by the Council of Europe.
The 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance encapsulate fundamental values defining a common vision of democratic governance in Europe. Using the 12 Principles as a reference point can help public authorities at any level measure and improve the quality of their governance and enhance service delivery to citizens. We are convinced that blockchain technology can be a fundamental tool to achieve them.
These principles are:
Fair Conduct of Elections
Efficiency and Effectiveness
Openness and Transparency
Rule of Law
Competence and Capacity
Innovation and Openness to Change
Sustainability and Long-term Orientation
Sound Financial Management
Human rights, Cultural Diversity and Social Cohesion
One of our new activities featuring the conference is the hackathon, which will be held in the Lion's room of La Llotja, and will count with the collaboration of a special partner, who will be organizing together with the D4A Team everything related to it.
Not only during the event, but also before it officially begins, different developer groups from various sectors will be working on the design of a solution for a political or governance topic, which will be decided together with the partner that will be hosting this activity.
A dedicated area will be provided for the hybrid (online & offline) roundtable discussions with different organizations, which will be organized depending on geographical location, to enable contrasting diverse jurisdictions and generating insightful debate.
Many topics will be held in various sessions, where participants and representatives from all around the world will have the opportunity to raise their voice. The objective is to offer a wide variety of topics (always related to the techno-political space) that any entity, firm or association willing to participate can find their place in the discussion where they feel the most comfortable to participate.
There will be a room where participants will have the opportunity to pitch for 2-5 minutes their ideas and be listened by VCs or angel investors. For this objective, all the participants will be provided with the relevant information on the challenges and topics that need to be addressed for participating in the pitching stage.
The event will also gather 2 VIP dinners and 3 Cocktail Parties focused on allowing networking between people of interest.
They will be exclusive events held in locations outside La Llotja (most of them) and not during the main conference hours. Participants will have the unique opportunity to join some of the most influential figures regarding the techno politics space as well as other interesting parties such as VCs, business representatives or other main stakeholders, thus being able to meet all the top guests of the conference without hassle and crowd attention.
